Stampede at New Delhi Railway station on platform no 12 & 13 resulted in death of 2 people (woman and child) and injuries to another 9 people. At that time, Bihar Sampark Kranthi express and Delhi-Darbhanga express are on 12 and 13 platforms.
Minor incidents are common during holidays at major Indian railway stations but incident of this magnitude is a serious concern. I know the pathtic state of passengers who travel in the unreserved compartments. No one cares about poor people.
In many places in Southern Tamil Nadu, passengers should move in queue under the guidance of police people. There is no chance for stampede.
Ex. Cheran express in coimbatore, Neelgiri Express in Mettupalyam etc.
