Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa brought BJP high command to his knees. Despite being put under tremendous pressure over last 3 days, Yeddy defied high command and decided not to resign. BJP finally gave 11 AM deadline on November 23 to resign but Yeddyurappa refused to do so by claiming the support of MLAs. National parties in India have lost control over powerful state leaders. Jagan in Andhra Pradesh and Yeddyurappa in Karnataka are recent examples. According to reports, Yeddyurappa may resign after the local body polls which are scheduled to be held in December. According to my view, he may not do so if BJP performs well. That is a good ploy by Yeddy group. Anti-Yeddyurappa group lost chance after the leakage of "Janardhan Reddy bribe video" on News 9 TV channel. B.S. Yeddyurappa got little support from Sushma Swaraj, Anant Kumar and Arun Jaitley who belong to anti-Yeddyurappa group but his Yeddy's group is defiant and adamant. B.S Yeddyurappa belongs to powerful Lingayat community and has strong base in Karnataka BJP cadre. Mining lobby is gunning for his removal over last 6 months. Outlook magazine picked Karnataka as the most corrupt state in India. BJP's first Government in South India is in shambles. Our ratings for major NDA Governments: NDA Governments are famous for providing good governance but Karnataka Government spoiled everything.
