India lost to New Zealand by 200 runs in the first match of the tri-series. India was all out for 88 runs in 29.3 overs. This is one of the worst ever performances by an Indian cricket team in recent days. Due to this loss, India will lose second rank in ICC One day team rankings.
Superstars like Dhoni, Raina, Yuvraj and Rohit Sharma failed to cross even 10 runs.
Only 3 Indian batsmen crossed double digit scores. Ravindra Jadeja is the top scorer with 20 runs.
Earlier, New Zealand was all out for 288 thanks to wonderful innings by Ross Taylor and Styris who scored brilliant half centuries. Ross Taylor scored 95 while Styris scored 89 in just 95 balls.
India was 38/0 while New Zealand was 28/3 in the first seven overs. But, India scored just 30 runs in next 12 overs but lost 7 top batsmen.
Worst performance.
