DMK is in defence for the last 3 days due to Jayalalitha's comment in regarding support to UPA Government. Both Raja and DMK were adamant till Saturday but media played vital role in keeping pressure. A. Raja won from Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency (Tamil Nadu) by defeating MDMK candidate C. Krishnan in 2009 Lok Sabha polls. Famous tourist centres, Ooty & Coonoor belong to this Parliament seat. Raja finally resigned from Telecom portfolio after getting signals from DMK chief Karunanidhi who was under tremendous pressure from all corners especially Congress and AIADMK.
